Maui Eco Adventures

Maui Eco Adventures offers a variety of different hiking adventures that go to a variety of areas across the island of Maui. The environment of Maui is extremely diverse. There are warm tropical rainforests and rugged coastlines in the lower elevations. Then as you get higher up on the mountain it cools down and the foliage thins out and eventually almost completely disappears at the summit. Maui Eco Adventures offers hikes all over Maui. The crew of Maui Eco Adventures has always been known for their adventurous spirit. In addition to the various hikes and combinations of hiking, helicopter rides, and kayak excursions they also specialize in private guide services and custom trips. The guides of Maui Eco Adventures are very well versed in Hawaiian history and culture and will do their best to share their knowledge with you. The history of the island of Maui is very rich. Hawaiian society is estimated to have flourished for over fourteen hundred years before Captain Cook first set foot on the islands. There was a complex society of villages throughout the islands. These villages were based on wedge-shaped parcels of land called extending from the sea to the top of the mountain. This parcel was called an ahupua’a. Each ahupua’a contained everything needed to support the village. Fishing grounds along the coastline, taro patches in the lowlands, hunting grounds further up the valley etc. Each ahupua’a was essentially its own society that was loosely connected to each other through a complicated class system that was dominated by the Ali’i (royalty class). Great battles were fought for control over these lands and eventually a great chief from the Big Island named King Kamehameha was able to seize control of the entire island chain in a bloody conquest that went from island to island conquering or forcing the allegiance of the locals under threat of war with his great army. If you are looking to escape the boundaries of your resort to what lies beyond they it might be a good idea to look at the various options of outings that are available with Maui Eco Adventures.…
