Oahu Kayak Tours and Guides
Oahu kayaking tours are among the most beautiful activities and adventures that the island has to offer.
Although the beaches off Waikiki and Honolulu are the most frequented by visitors, some of the most exotic water scapes can be accessed via kayak tour on Oahu's eastern and northern windward coasts.
Kayaking off the coast of Kailua which is about a half an hours drive through the "Pali" tunnel from Waikiki is particularly beautiful especially for eco tour enthusiasts.
The Mokulua Islands just lie about a mile or so off the coast of windward Oahu and the shallow water in between provides excellent coral formations and plenty of sea life within a few minutes kayak paddle.
Kayaks are generally offered as a single or double, depending upon your preference and some of the kayaking companies also have special "see through" kayaks made of transparent material which essentially makes the inside of your kayak a giant face mask. Snorkeling is always a part of the equation, and oftentimes visiting with turtles, dolphins and whales in season.
- No experience is necessary for your Oahu kayaking tours
- Many kayak tour companies emphasize the eco tour aspects of the excursion.
- Some kayak tour companies will also include pick-up from your Honolulu or Waikiki hotel.
- When considering Oahu activities consider checking out an Oahu kayaking company for a surprisingly wonderful and marine intensive ocean experience.
Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks - Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks offers guided kayak tours, surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing lessons. Guides are trained with the highest standards of the ACA (American Canoe Assoc). History, geology and marine biology usually become a point of conversation on each of these tours because of the rare marine environment and geologic conditions that are a part and parcel of each of these endeavors. The Kailua area is truly a gem of the Oahu landscape and all of Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks tours immerse you in its extraordinary beauty. | ![]() Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks Price Range: (From: $55.90 - To: $238.90) |
The Surf Bus - Now here's an idea whose time has come! Certainly you've heard of the famous beaches on the North Shore of Oahu. Sunset Beach, Pipeline and of course Waimea Bay are just a handful of spots you're probably aware of. The Surf Bus provides a way for you to be able to visit these beaches in a leisurely fashion guided by "long time" locals and also participate in additional activities that the North Shore is famous for. You can learn to surf, snorkel, hike, bike, swim in a waterfall, kayak or just "hang" on the beach. You'll be taken to a great place to buy "grinds" at one of the popular restaurants in Haleiwa as well. If you're looking for a multifaceted "laid-back" adventure in the picturesque North Shore of Oahu, the Surf Bus may provide just what you want. | ![]() The Surf Bus Price Range: (From: $58.00 - To: $58.00) |
Twogood Kayaks Hawaii - Bob Twogood has been a pioneer in establishing the famous kayak tours from Kailua Bay to the Mokulua Islands. His background as a former national champion kayak racer provided a solid foundation around which to build his kayak company. Twogood Kayaks has been operational since 1982 and his trips out to the Mokulua Islands are his company’s specialty. These tours are spectacular and my last excursion with them was one of my best experiences ever on Oahu. The Mokulua’s are breathtaking on their own but coupled with the degree of professionalism that Bob brings to the table along with the best equipment and quality guides available makes this experience one of the very best on the island. | ![]() Twogood Kayaks Hawaii Price Range: (From: $113.90 - To: $113.90) |

Kayaking in Oahu - I have always thought that ocean kayaking was among the most ocean intensive of all the water sports. A kayak puts you right into the action of anything that might be going on and provides the availability to view and participate with any such occurrence from your position on top of the kayak or, in a moments notice, from the water itself. The slow and stealth-like movements of the kayak over the ocean surface offer very little threat to the fish below and on a clear day visibility can be likened to floating in a fishbowl. Conditions like this are often prevalent on Oahu's eastern shores, particularly off Kailua Bay in route to the Mokulua Islands. The shallow white sand ocean bottom is usually only about 8 to 10 feet deep and beautiful coral heads are everywhere. Because the water is so shallow the ocean color is changed from a deep blue to a beautiful and inviting emerald green. These kayak tours on Oahu are among my very favorite activities and offer great snorkeling and lots of adventure.
