We had an amazing tour to Molokini Crater and turtle town! The captain and crew were very friendly and helpful making sure that people had what they needed on the boat and in the water! They did a great job instructing people on snorkeling safety and etiquette and had nice equipment for everyone! They also did a great job of accommodating a gluten free diet for those with Celiac. The cruise out and back was also smooth sailing with many whale sightings and fun commentary from the captain! We will definitely tour with them again on our next trip to Maui!

Our family of 4 had an awesome day on the water with “Boat Guy Greg” and crew! After reading many reviews of snorkel companies for Molokini we settled on Maui Snorkeling and were so happy we did! Greg’s chill demeanour and humour had us quickly relaxed even before boarding and the crew (especially Dani and Sarah) were incredible! We were treated to turtles, beautiful coral and gorgeous fish, dolphins and flying fish swimming alongside our boat and the best part of all were the numerous Humpback Whales (including a mom and babe!!) We purchased the photo package from Sarah (would highly recommend!) which had so many awesome photos of our family and absolutely stunning photos she got in the water of the Humpbacks!! Can’t wait to get home and print off some of our favourites! Our kids had an amazing time, and especially loved the blow up slide! Greg’s music choices were awesome, the food was tasty and the whole experience had a fantastic vibe! Stop looking through reviews now and book with Maui Snorkeling-you will not be disappointed!!

The crew was funny, helpful, and knowledgeable about Maui and all of the sea life! The boat was a great size and the food was good for a half day of snorkeling. We saw whales, dolphins, and several sea turtles. We stopped at the sea turtle spot first and we were the only boat there! When we got to Molokini crater, three boats were leaving and only two small ones were left. It wasn't too crowded at all! While we didn't travel with our kids, we noticed how helpful and kind the staff members were with the kids. I was grateful for the endless drinks they had on the boat to stay hydrated. We also loved that a photographer came on the trip. Even though you have to pay extra for the pictures, his rates are very reasonable and he took amazing shots! This was our first activity in Maui and I would highly recommend doing it at the start of your trip. It was worth paying a little more than some other boats to have a smaller crowd, without paying some of the much higher pricing for other small group boats.

Captain Paul and his crew made sure we had a trip we would never forget!!! 10/10 recommend this trip if you have kids. The slide was so fun for them when they tuckered out from snort. We saw whales, heard whales, snorkeled the insanely blue water reef, and went down the slide! Breakfast and lunch was also served!

The absolute best experience! Crew is so friendly and want you to have a great time! Saw so many fish, turtles and lots of whales on the boat ride back in! They also take amazing photos of you to purchase! Would highly recommend!

Our Captain and crew was very welcoming and helpful. We did the afternoon snorkel to coral gardens. Nice protected cove with reef, fish, and turtle. Wet suit rental for $10-$12 was helpful. Gear worked well. The kids loved the slide, big big plus after snorkeling. Lunch is basic but all you need. They added a side trip to see 3 whales playing nearby. Very nice of them to give us this bonus experience. They had nausea meds onboard, which was helpful. They also had an underwater photographer who took pics of everyone and then you can buy a pic or the whole package of your group. $40-$150. These pics will be a fun memory. The captain have a meaningful talk about the recent fire and local impact, and that he appreciates our business and support for his crew. It was a highlight of our trip.

We had a wonderful time. 5-6 hours seems long but it’s worth it and time passes very fast. We saw lots of whales and dolphins swim with us. Our captain was generous enough to take us where they could see signs of whales which made us see 8-9 whales all together. Also they have proper equipped gears and trained professionals in work.

The entire tour was amazing! We saw sea turtles, tropical fish, breaching humpback whales(seasonal), and dolphins! The staff were amazing and even got underwater shots of everyone snorkeling or jumping off the boat! Which is nice to have because I never have photos of myself ever!

So cool! We did a Celestial Star gazing with amazing views. We also saw lots of whales ! Harriet was amazing. Boat crew awesome! Boat captain was captaining.

A thoroughly wonderful whale watch tour. Knowledgeable guide was easy to listen to and engaging.
Most of the tour was very slow following a “competition” pod of humpbacks blowing and showing fins and an occasional tail. Stopping mid water to lower an underwater microphone to “listen in” on whale singing — magical!
Especially appreciate that this tour company is run by a non-profit supporting whale research and protection! Ditto for an excellent gift shop/gathering place for the boat tours.

We went on the 2 hour whale watching trip and it was an incredible experience. The whole crew was so knowledgeable and I learned so much on the trip. We also got very lucky and had 5 humpback whales right next to our boat and going under our boat. I would absolutely recommend to anyone to use this whale watching excursion.

Overall a good experience. You DO NOT need to show up 45 min in advance. Just show up 15 min in advance is enough. Make sure you fill out the waiver online in advance. A short walk to the boat. I chose the largest boat Ocean Voyager because I'm afraid of sea sickness and I'm prone to motion sickness. I did not end up feeling sick at all during the trip. Our naturalist Ash (a young female) was very knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate. She answered our questions with great detail and patience. Other staff members were very helpful too. We saw lots of whale action in February, a high season for whales.

We had a great dinner cruise. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales, but we had an amazing sunset and the dinner was great! My wife had a shrimp dinner and I got the short rib. The short rib was AMAZING! The chef cooked everything right on the boat with a few gas grills. It was one of the better meals I had that whole week, and we ate pretty well during our vacation. Definitely check it out, and get the short rib.

Such an amazing experience!!!! We saw dozens and dozens of whales. Our guide Griffin and Captain T were absolutely outstanding. The narration was half the fun. There was shade on the boat but the good viewing spots were very sunny so bring sunscreen. It was nice and cool once the boat got going.

We were on a tour off The Pride of America cruise boat and the 6hr tour were well worth the money.
All staff were very friendly and willing to help anyone, regardless of snorkelling ability, and also encouraged people who were quite frightened to have a go.
Our captain, Emily, was very helpful and thoughtful, keeping everyone informed and updating us on what was going on and how long we had in the water.
Breakfast was great. When we arrived, we had banana 🍌 bread, fruit, and croissants 🥐.
Plenty of coffee and drinks on board.
Lunch consisted of grilled chicken, beef, and veggie burgers, where you make your own burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. They also had macaroni salad and coleslaw with edamame beans, plenty of different sauces and condiments to make your meal just the way you want.
All staff were very friendly and willing to help anyone, regardless of snorkelling ability, and also encouraged people who were quite frightened to have a go.

Our large group of nine took the Sunset and Celestial Cruise with Harriet Witt speaking in mid-November and it was one of my favorite things we did on our trip to Maui.
We were lucky to see two whales even though we were told it was early in the season to be seeing them. Due to high winds, they weren't able to take the boat as far away from shore as they usually do, so some there was some impact from the lights at shore on the star gazing experience.
We absolutely loved Harriet's narration! Members of our group ended up laying on our backs at the bow and could really take in what she was sharing. It was such a unique experience and getting to learn from someone like her was an amazing opportunity.
The food was a nice treat but not the reason to go on this cruise.

A thoroughly wonderful whale watch tour. Knowledgeable guide was easy to listen to and engaging.
Most of the tour was very slow following a “competition” pod of humpbacks blowing and showing fins and an occasional tail. Stopping mid water to lower an underwater microphone to “listen in” on whale singing — magical!
Especially appreciate that this tour company is run by a non-profit supporting whale research and protection! Ditto for an excellent gift shop/gathering place for the boat tours.

We went on the 2 hour whale watching trip and it was an incredible experience. The whole crew was so knowledgeable and I learned so much on the trip. We also got very lucky and had 5 humpback whales right next to our boat and going under our boat. I would absolutely recommend to anyone to use this whale watching excursion.

Overall a good experience. You DO NOT need to show up 45 min in advance. Just show up 15 min in advance is enough. Make sure you fill out the waiver online in advance. A short walk to the boat. I chose the largest boat Ocean Voyager because I'm afraid of sea sickness and I'm prone to motion sickness. I did not end up feeling sick at all during the trip. Our naturalist Ash (a young female) was very knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate. She answered our questions with great detail and patience. Other staff members were very helpful too. We saw lots of whale action in February, a high season for whales.

We had a great dinner cruise. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales, but we had an amazing sunset and the dinner was great! My wife had a shrimp dinner and I got the short rib. The short rib was AMAZING! The chef cooked everything right on the boat with a few gas grills. It was one of the better meals I had that whole week, and we ate pretty well during our vacation. Definitely check it out, and get the short rib.

Such an amazing experience!!!! We saw dozens and dozens of whales. Our guide Griffin and Captain T were absolutely outstanding. The narration was half the fun. There was shade on the boat but the good viewing spots were very sunny so bring sunscreen. It was nice and cool once the boat got going.

We had the best time on our whale watching tour in Maui! The entire experience with PacWhale Eco-Adventures was top-notch.
The staff was so friendly and supportive, but what really stood out was how knowledgeable they were. They didn’t just show us whales; they took the time to educate us about the humpbacks' lives and their environment. We genuinely learned so much while having a blast on the water.
They took great care of everyone on board and made sure the trip was both fun and meaningful. If you’re in Maui, this is a must-do!

We were on a tour off The Pride of America cruise boat and the 6hr tour were well worth the money.
All staff were very friendly and willing to help anyone, regardless of snorkelling ability, and also encouraged people who were quite frightened to have a go.
Our captain, Emily, was very helpful and thoughtful, keeping everyone informed and updating us on what was going on and how long we had in the water.
Breakfast was great. When we arrived, we had banana 🍌 bread, fruit, and croissants 🥐.
Plenty of coffee and drinks on board.
Lunch consisted of grilled chicken, beef, and veggie burgers, where you make your own burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. They also had macaroni salad and coleslaw with edamame beans, plenty of different sauces and condiments to make your meal just the way you want.

Our large group of nine took the Sunset and Celestial Cruise with Harriet Witt speaking in mid-November and it was one of my favorite things we did on our trip to Maui.
We were lucky to see two whales even though we were told it was early in the season to be seeing them. Due to high winds, they weren't able to take the boat as far away from shore as they usually do, so some there was some impact from the lights at shore on the star gazing experience.
We absolutely loved Harriet's narration! Members of our group ended up laying on our backs at the bow and could really take in what she was sharing. It was such a unique experience and getting to learn from someone like her was an amazing opportunity.
The food was a nice treat but not the reason to go on this cruise.

It was early in the season but we saw tons of whales, probably about 8 to 10 sightings. Have captain and guide were super knowledgeable and very friendly. I highly recommend

That's the main word that describes this dive outfit. I have been diving for 37 years, I grew up in South Florida and have experienced so many dive companies all over the world. The Maui Diamond Sea Sports staff, equipment, boat and experience is world class. This week was our third year and 6th trip with the Maui Diamond. You get broken into small guided dive groups, provided with detailed dive briefings, as well as all kinds of snack and drinks including delicious homemade banana bread(with or without nuts, they think of everything). Did I mention the price is totally "market", very fair reasonable pricing compared to other dives. The boat is big and extremely comfortable, the staff will set your equipment up if you like and put your personals in a large waterproof bin under your setup, a clean working head, 2 ladders with hot water spray off after dives. Our guide took amazing professional looking photos and air dropped them to us after dives making my GoPro useless lol. If you come at the right time of year the dives are just like a whale watching tour, you see so many whales on the trip to the dive sites
. I will say though we did do the whale watching tour with Maui Diamond and we had done one previous from the same harbor and I could easily say Maui Diamond did a much better job. A very professional crew - went out for a 2 tank dive at Molokini Crater and nearby coral reef. The check-in process was easy. Love that we could do our waivers prior to arrival. Rental dive equipment was great. Michelle was our dive instructor; she was very positive, friendly, welcoming and assisted a diver when in need. I felt very comfortable diving with her and the Maui Diamond Crew. They changed out our tanks and kept our gear organized and dry. We were a little chilly and they hooked us up with some reusable heat packs which made us happy and warm. An extra perk was seeing whales on the way in and out of the harbor. Would dive with the Maui Dive crew again - Captain Ben, Michelle, David, & Nick! Would recommend to friends looking for a good diving crew!

We did the Cathedrals boat dive and it was amazing. The crew was great, the dive was great. It's a little more pricy for the boat dives but honestly worth it between the full service offered, quality of staff, providing lunch/snacks. I would definitely do this dive again and with this company.

We had an awesome time on the Maui Diamond for our two tank dive.
Dave was the perfect guide for our dives at Cathedral One and Sergeant Major. The reefs were alive with black sea turtles, eels, and fish. The swim throughs of the Cathedral were fun and the site was interesting, especially the exit of the caverns. Dave was also kind enough to share his pics of the dive with us.
The boat was well equipped and the mates took great care of our equipment during set up, change over and breakdown.
This was the second time that we dove with this outfit and will definitely not be the last! Thank you Maui Diamond for a great day and see you next year!!

Went on dives for three consecutive days with this group and my family. We have nothing but positive words for the overall experience. We appreciated the generous accommodations and sharp attentiveness to our requests. Our divemasters were quite knowledgeable of the sport and dive sites we visited. The diving itself was fantastic! Some of the best diving I’ve ever done in terms of aquatic life and water quality. Our trips even doubled as whale watching opportunities because of the time of year (January)!! I highly recommend diving with Maui Diamond.

Every time we come to Maui, Maui Diamond is our #1 dive company. Their boat is comfortable and well set up for the number of divers, and having a restroom on board is a big plus.
The dive masters are extremely knowledgeable, and you can truly tell they love what they do. Dave, in particular, makes the dive briefings fun and comical, which really adds to the experience.
They also provide snacks, beverages, and lunch, which is always appreciated. As always, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely dive with them again when we return to Maui.

After 6 boat dives in 3 days I have nothing but positive things to say about Maui Diamond. I have done a moderate amount of diving in many different locations around the world, and I really appreciate Maui Diamond as an experienced diver. 1) they allow each individual to come up on their own air consumption rather than the lowest of the group, allowing up to a 70 min dive. 2) they are a very professional crew with incredible experience in their dive masters who found some incredible sea life. 3) if you dive with the dive masters “Dave” he takes pictures that are far more incredible than my own, and openly shares them (air drop for iPhone users). 4) they have great snacks and a warm shower between dives. 5) they are safe and yet don’t sacrifice the quality of the dive.
Without a doubt, I will look to come back to their crew and dive more… it was a great experience!!!

Highly recommend this dive site! The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and made everyone feel comfortable and safe. The operation is well organized and suitable for all diving levels, from beginners to experienced divers. As an added bonus, we stopped to watch dolphins and whales, which made the trip even more special. I would absolutely dive with them again and recommend them to anyone. The views can’t be beat!

I had a great time diving yesterday on the Maui Diamond. We were supposed to dive Lana’i Cathedrals but we rerouted to Molokini Crater and Red Hill due to wind and conditions. We still had a great day with 2 diverse dives! They were flexible and communicative about the change of plans in the days leading up to the dive.
Our captain was Don and my DM was Dave. Dave did a great job giving dive briefings and keeping us safe underwater and at the surface. He also went above and beyond helping me set up my kit to make sure it was in good shape for both dives.
Both dives were drift dives / live drops, which I was a little surprised by since I’m used to having a mooring line, but the crew handled everything well and safety was emphasized. My group had 4 divers and I know it can be a gamble but we all happened to align pretty perfectly on air consumption and ability.
I found Maui Diamond off a Reddit thread and I’m happy I booked with them. I would definitely come back for future trips!

I had such an amazing experience with Makena Coast Charters! I did their Whale Watching tour to Molokini crater. The water was crystal clear and you could see so many different fish. Captain Matt and Lucia were absolutely amazing. Lucia used the hydrophone so we could hear the whales singing! They were surprisingly really loud but it was a beautiful sound, listening to them all sing to each other. She explained so many different things about the whales and how they travel to get to Hawaii, how intelligent they have to be to get all the way there, and how the mother whales teach their babies to explore safely. We saw more than 5 different whales on our way to Molokini and the crew made sure that they stopped and showed us where to look and ensured that everyone was being respectful of each other so that everyone got the opportunity to see and take pictures. I really had such a great time and experience! I highly recommend, it was worth it. AND! They had snacks 🙂

Best thing we did is Hawaii. Our captain Matt, and Lucia made the whole experience! We had an incredible encounter with a whale that swam under our boat. They gave knowledge and caught the whales song for us to hear. They brought us to the best snorkeling spot Monokini crater. The ocean was live and vibrant. We finished the 3 hour tour with a snap and Hawaiian juice as we found serval more whales. They truly made this trip special!

Was a great trip! Matt was great! He ensured everyone was safe and had fun. Was perfect for a quick trip. Molokini crater was beautiful! I really enjoyed myself and would definitely come back! Also getting to stop for whales was so cool! All equipment needed was supplied plus floatation options.

Had an incredible time with Captain Matt and Sarah! We booked the Molokini Snorkel tour which got canceled from the wind and were easily and quickly rebooked for the following morning.
Check in was easy and painless- snorkeling was beyond words beautiful and we found 6/7 whales that were having a great time around our boat for about an hour on the way back, hands down the most incredible experience ever.
Matt and Sarah were very accommodating to all ages in our tour.

We had a really great time! Matt is very reassuring and instills confidence in every person. The snorkeling was amazing… large schools of fish! Waters were too rough for the scheduled turtle town, but we saw many whales instead. 🐋
Sarah was also very helpful and knowledgeable.

Captain Matt and instructor Sarah were amazing and very knowledgeable on our Snorkeling and whale watching trip to Molokini Crater. We had multiple beautiful sightings of humpback whales. The snorkeling experience was surreal with many pretty fishes around the crater.

We were greeted by our captain and he seemed truly happy we were joining him today. Check in was quick and easy. Crew did a good job briefing us prior to departure and once we were at Molokini. They stressed the importance and significance of the sanctuary and provided a little history and background. The equipment was clean and up to date, the boat was clean and well maintained. It was nice to have snacks and drinks to refuel after such an amazing snorkeling trip. No pictures can do the beauty of Maui and Molokini justice, it truly needs to be experienced. Beautiful blue ocean and skies and such incredible marine life. On the way back in we saw a number of whales! Such a wonderful experience and I would certainly recommend it and will look forward to booking again on my next trip to Maui!

They stressed the importance and significance of the sanctuary and provided a little history and background. The equipment was clean and up to date, the boat was clean and well maintained. It was nice to have snacks and drinks to refuel after such an amazing snorkeling trip. No pictures can do the beauty of Maui and Molokini justice, it truly needs to be experienced. Beautiful blue ocean and skies and such incredible marine life. On the way back in we saw a number of whales! Such a wonderful experience and I would certainly recommend it and will look forward to booking again on my next trip to Maui!

OMG!! Big thank you to Chase, AJ, and Shannon!! What a trip!! Lana’i Coast Snorkel gave us fish, turtles and whales but the level of care and service this crews gave us was above and beyond. My husband does not swim and they helped/made that snorkel happen, twice!! Unbelievable!! It is the best choice we made on Maui

We had a blast on our snorkel trip! Saul Maui was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and fun. They are attentive with drinks and we saw so many whales on the way out and back. We also swam with about 10 turtles. The food was delicious and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had a great time on the golden hour sail . We liked it so much we went twice. Saw lots of whales. Very clean boat with very friendly crew. Will book again when we’re back. It’s a plus being able to get on from a dock at Lāhainā Harbor instead of running thru the water to beat the waves.

I joined the Golden Hour Whale Watch tour in Lahaina with this wonderful team, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The catamaran was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The crew was friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the trip.
They shared fascinating facts about the whales, which made the experience even more meaningful. We were fortunate to spot these incredible creatures and felt truly honored to witness them in their natural habitat. The snacks were tasty, the music on board created a great atmosphere, and everything was perfectly organized and on time.
It was an unforgettable experience and a lifelong memory. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful sunset sail with Ciro & Jen on Sail Maui this last Saturday for Valentine’s Day 🩷 They are a fantastic team—we saw lots of whales and enjoyed a beautiful cruise out on the water. The experience was relaxing, scenic, and so much fun. They also served snacks and beverages, which made the trip even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a memorable time out on the water, I definitely recommend checking out Sail Maui! 🌅🐋

My husband and I enjoyed this excursion very much. The team was nice and welcoming: always trying to provide you with drinks and snacks. As soon as we began to leave the docking station to the open water there were numerous whales already showing a lot of activity. The captain look time to allow us all may chances to see and record these beautiful creatures! Brice was the female team member and she was delightful and always sharing some fun whale information with us all. The boat was clean and very safe!
The only two things I didn’t love about it was 1. Everyone has to remove their shoes. I am not a person who goes without shoes ever due to bad feet issues and 2. I didn’t like that the boat was setting still for about 35 minutes just viewing the open water. I would prefer to be moving and looking for whales. However many others felt this was a relaxing time and seemed to enjoy sitting still for a long period of time.
Even tho there were a couple of little things I didn’t enjoy I would most definitely recommend this team and excursion to anyone going to Maui to see the whales !!!

We went on Sail Maui with Captain Brandon, and his awesome crew AJ, and Joe. Everyone was in great spirits and made the trip personal and insightful. We got lucky and saw a ton of whales right up close. Went to Molokini crater and snorkeled around. The boat wasn’t huge which made it feel like we were right on the water and it was great. Highly recommend, would use this team again!

We appreciated them sharing their knowledge of whales and the island of Maui & surrounding islands. The Captain and crew made for such an enjoyable time in and out of the water and making sure our safety came first!

The best experience, crew, vibe, everything!!! I have done a few whale watching tours while living on Maui and this is by far the best experience I've had. Great crew (Justin and Micah) who were knowledgeable, kind, great sense of humor, massive respect for the whales and Lahaina. I cannot wait to book again this season. I plan on bringing friends and family when they visit!
I think it was Micah (sorry if spelled wrong) who was able to capture some amazing film of a mother and calf that were by the katamaran and sent it to all of us! We were all able to get great shots and simply enjoy how magnificent the whales are. Incredible!!
