Molokini Morning Snorkel & Slide

The food was good, and I really liked the way the tour was organized… stopping at Turtle Town first and then Molokini meant we avoided the larger crowds from other tours and got to enjoy a much more peaceful experience. We saw dolphins on the way and stopped to stare them.
There was also a fantastic photographer on board who captured beautiful moments. The boat itself was big, clean, and fun, even with a waterslide! They had good gear available and gave a short snorkeling lesson beforehand, which made me feel secure and confident in the water.
Molokini and Turtle Town are truly spectacular places, and this trip was absolutely worth it.
That said, there were a couple of aspects that could have been better. The female crew members were wearing very minimal string bikinis while walking around the ship, which felt inappropriate given the number of families and couples aboard. Since they were working, I would have expected more professional swimwear, and it came across as awkward in that setting.
We were also looking forward to seeing turtles, especially since the website mentioned “turtle town.” When I asked one of the crew members about it, she explained that “turtle town” is more of a marketing phrase since all of Maui is considered turtle town. While she did suggest a nearby spot where we might see turtles, it was disappointing to have our expectations set that way, especially with tickets costing $200 per person.
Lastly, the gratuity request at the end felt a little uncomfortable, especially paired with how the crew presented themselves.
All in all, we still enjoyed the trip and appreciated Captain Jamie’s professionalism, but with a few adjustments this could easily be a five-star experience
We did the Molokini Crater Snorkeling tour and we were not disappointed.
We did the early morning tour. They served coffee, muffins and yummy pastries. We were also served sandwiches, drinks/sodas/waters for lunch. This is really appreciated! It was really nice not to have to pack and bring these things while on vacation.
The Captain was knowledgeable, personable and had a great sense of humor. He was honest, fair and genuinely concerned that everyone has a great experience. The ladies working on the boat were also friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Their skill on the boat and in the water was quite impressive!
We loved snorkeling in the crater. The water was so calm and clear. We saw many different types of fish and other marine life. They were swimming all around us. On the way to the crater, we even got to see an out of season Whale Mama and her calf! Even our Captain was surprised that she was there. He moved the boat to ensure we all got to see her. It was majestic and beautiful. Our 14 year old son loved jumping off the boat and going down the slide. It was great because everyone cheered for each other on the slide. It was a really great time and perfect day!
The professional photos that were taken were really appreciated! It was well worth the cost to have the gift of these memories captured in such great photos. Our photographer was so sweet and just an overall lovely woman. Her skill for taking underwater pictures was incredible. She even gave us some great suggestions on other places to visit during our vacation.
I highly recommend this excursion!

The food was great too—breakfast included croissants, pineapple, banana bread, and orange slices, and lunch was a tasty combo of burgers, salad, and refreshing drinks. Everything was fresh and well-organized.
The snorkeling experience was unforgettable—clear water, beautiful fish, and such a fun time for everyone. They even had a lily pad for kids, which was a huge hit with our 3-year-old! It was perfect for little ones who didn’t want to jump fully into the water but still wanted to play safely. Life jackets and floating supports were also provided, making it stress-free for families.
Overall, this trip was totally worth it—great value, great crew, and an incredible experience. I’d highly recommend it to all families visiting Maui! 🌺🚤🐠
Everyone, literally everyone had so much fun!
1. Molokini crater was amazing and they got us a time slot that wasn't crowded at all. Super clear water with amazing sea life.
2. We must've seen 150 spinner dolphins and a couple babies!! So so gorgeous and then we still got to do a shallow snorkel at Honolua bay and saw around 10 sea turtles!
For breakfast, it's pretty light, only some bread and fruit. Please bring protein or greens if you want that for breakfast. Lunch was amazing both times, you get your choice of protein alongside regular salad and Mac salad. Plus a cookie at the end 🙂
Employees were all very professional and knew what to do when the weather didn't allow for the normal schedule. Snorkel gear worked pretty much perfect except for my partner's mask which had a crack in it and was very quickly exchanged for a working one by an employee.
Overall amazing experiences and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great initial snorkeling journey.
While there were aspects of the experience that were enjoyable, several key areas left much to be desired, which is why I’m giving a 3-star rating.
To begin with, the cost of parking was surprisingly high. For a facility of this kind, I expected parking to be either included or more reasonably priced. The elevated parking fees felt excessive and added unexpected cost to the overall experience, which detracted from the value.
The food was another disappointment. It was very simple, lacking in both flavor and creativity. Given the setting, we were hoping for something more thoughtfully prepared or representative of the local cuisine, but it ultimately felt generic and uninspired.
On a positive note, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their customer service was genuine, and they were clearly dedicated to making guests feel comfortable. However, there was a noticeable emphasis on upselling additional services throughout the trip. While we understand the business aspect, the constant sales pitch became a bit much and took away from what should have been a relaxing experience.
Overall, while the staff’s hospitality was appreciated, the elevated parking costs, underwhelming food, and persistent upselling made the experience feel less worthwhile than expected.
The naturalist commentary is not really audible if you sit under deck, which we did to get out of the sun.

PS: Here's a suggestion. Perhaps post multi-language signs in big red letters in the Marine head about no paper so those clients who dont know english well and thus miss that pretty crucial detail in the dockside orientation wont disable the head for the entire trip !
The vessel has a head and sink in its own room. They offer snacks including fresh banana bread and an assortment of canned drinks throughout the trip.
Finally, the staff. I enjoyed the company of Ben, David, Kim, Nick, Michele, Sam, Dave, Don, Beth, Brian, Joe & Greg across four excursions. They worked as a team assisting us throughout the day. Tips are well deserved. A big mahalo to you all!
Nick’s knowledge and experience are exceptional. He prioritized my safety, especially by navigating the potentially dangerous sea swells with skill. He is a fantastic guide—professional, knowledgeable, and passionate. If you want an unforgettable and safe dive seeing Maui's best, book a tour with Nick
Our dive master, Ernie, was nothing short of exceptional—patient, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided our boys through every step, making them feel confident and comfortable in the water. The moment we descended, we were surrounded by crystal-clear blue, schools of colorful reef fish, and coral gardens that looked like something out of an aquarium .
Between dives, the captain and crew kept the atmosphere light and fun, sharing tips, stories, and a genuine passion for the ocean. Watching our kids surface grinning ear-to-ear after their very first ocean dives is a memory we’ll treasure forever.
Five stars aren’t enough—this team made our first family dive in Maui truly magical. We hope to be back again soon!

We were even lucky enough to see dolphins 😄.
The boat was spacious enough for the passengers. The food was reasonable.
Captain Brandon and his crew, Dakota and Micah were so friendly, welcoming and …fun 🙌
We had a magical time, sailing with dolphins for at least 10mn and then going around Molokini with a grandiose music orchestration and finally a real aquarium while snorkeling. We even saw an octopus 😀
We felt we had the genuine experience with only 22 people on board and a family feel.
Thank you guys 🙏🤗
