There is No Lifeguard on Duty at Rock Quarry Beach
That withstanding Rock Quarry Beach is a place sparsely populated by swimmers on the left side and is a place snorkelers find of interest on the right side. Surfers take an interest in surfing this beach as well. Since there is no lifeguard on duty here it is important to exercise great caution if you choose to even get into the water at all. The summer months of course are the best time due to the lesser wave heights and winter is not recommended for water entry at all. Also, the river mouth area can provide a murky presence and as is true of all stream outlets to the ocean in Hawaii these conditions provide a likelihood for sharks in the water. Currents can also be a concern during all months of the year so an option that many people will exercise will be to kayak on the river and up the stream.
Rock Quarry Beach Sand Bar
The sand bar that is formed near the stream entrance of Rock Quarry Beach creates an additional area of beautiful sand adding depth to the beach. This remote beach is very beautiful and on most days will provide you with a sense of privacy and can be a great place to set out a blanket and read a book either in the sun or in the shade of an Ironwood Tree.
Parking Above the Beach
Rock Quarry Beach is shy on amenities having neither restrooms or showers and no picnic tables. It does have a dirt parking lot at the entrance.
