A Maui Zipline. What you should know before you book!

Feb 3, 2021 | Activity Information

Things to know about the Maui Zipline Tours before you make a booking:
Do you have any health or medical problems?

Generally speaking if you are in good health taking a zipline tour will not be an issue. There is a certain amount of walking to do between zips on each course and you often have to climb a tower to get to the launch platform. This is not particularly strenuous on most courses, but be advised. There can be sudden stops upon breaking before landing that may be jarring for some people so please take this into consideration if you have any medical conditions involving knees, shoulders, back, ankles, feet and so on. You should not participate if you are pregnant.

What age do you need to be to participate?

All the courses differ somewhat. Most will want a child to be between 8 and 12 years old but some will allow a child of 5 years old. Children will always need to participate with an adult guardian.

You can be either too light or too heavy to go on a zip-line. What are the restrictions?

Once again, the different courses will differ in weight restrictions. The low range is usually between 60-80 lbs and the high range is usually between 250-280 lbs. Special children’s courses can go down to a weight of about 40 lbs. The various companies tend to be very strict about these weights and they will even weigh you on a scale as you check in. If you are over, or under the weight you said you were you will not be allowed to participate and there will be no refunds.
You should make your reservation well in advance.

This can be a heartbreak. Tours are often booked so far in advance that it is impossible for a person just arriving on island to make a booking. This will vary of course with the season but a good rule of thumb would be to make your booking 3 weeks in advance.
