The great advantage in taking one of these tours via bicycle is that you will travel in many areas on ‘car free pathways’ and actually go slow enough to appreciate the locations you are visiting yet you will be going fast enough to cover enough ground in an effortless fashion to actually fully visit a particular area. Pedal Bike Tours offers two separate tours on Oahu that will allow you to enjoy two very different, yet fun and interesting parts of the island in a fashion that allows you to really ‘take in’ the experience. You will be able to visit the major sightseeing spots in Waikiki and Honolulu in their ‘Hidden Honolulu’ tour or in their ‘Explore the North Shore’ tour you will be able to bike the expanse of amazing big surf beaches that have made Oahu the ‘Mecca’ of big wave surfers the world over.
Hidden Honolulu Tour
Departing daily at 8:30am and 1:00pm from the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in Honolulu your small group of participants numbering no more than eight bicyclists will launch on a 3 hour ramble through the back streets of the city visiting some of the most iconic sites the town has to offer. You’ll visit the Iolani Palace, the King Kamehameha Stature, the urban murals of Kaka’ako, the famous ‘Point Panic’ surf break, and travel the streets of Honolulu’s Chinatown. You will be traveling on mostly flat terrain and cover about 12 miles in 3 hours.

Explore the North Shore
This seven hour experience allows you to ride anywhere between 3 and 13 miles along the bike paths of the spectacular North Shore of Oahu. But before any of that actually happens you will be picked up at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel departure point in Honolulu and transported across the ‘Pali’ through the tunnels to the other side of the island via a tour van and be treated to a delightful drive up the east and northern coastlines of Oahu in route to the most magnificent ‘big wave’ beaches in all of Hawaii. Here you will really get the flavor of the North Shore experience as you pedal slowly from one famous beach to another. Have you heard of Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, or Pipeline? Now you will be able to see them first hand. Don’t feel as though you will be limited to simply having fun on your bike however as you will be able to jump in the water at a secret local beach as well. You’ll finish up at the bustling North Shore beach town of Haleiwa and along the way you will eat lunch at the famous shrimp truck for lunch. By day’s end you’ll feel like a local and will have truly experienced a part of Oahu that few visitors ever see, and the few that do only through the windows of a motor coach.
