Well the Maui visitor industry is keeping up with the times. We have a number of various ‘food tours’ that examine the way food is grown, prepared or eaten. This goes for wine tasting and vodka distillation as well.
The things you learn in these experiences are often quite beyond the normal experiences of most visitors. Honestly, my wife and I went recently on the pineapple tour on Maui and found ourselves in the middle of a huge pineapple field stretching for acres in the middle of the region that we ourselves live in and as yet had never visited because it was private land. In my case it gave me so much more understanding of things that were going on right in my back yard that I had no clue were occurring. By the way, the hand picked pineapple we took home was delicious.
Try one of the food tours to do something different. I just might be fun!
